There are so many CDs on the market
today that are "specially designed" for Baby. The
choices are overwhelming if you're not musically inclined.
As a classically trained musician with advanced degrees, I
tend to be very selective with the music I expose my children
to. The new Music for Babies CD Series from
Advanced Brain Technologies is something I will recommend
to everyone I know!
I was so thrilled to hear well-known classical pieces,
traditional folk melodies, lullabies and nursery rhymes played
by classically trained musicians on "real" acoustic
instruments. The choice of instrumentation is perfect for
Baby's ears: harp, violin, viola, cello, clarinet, flute and
celeste, and all selections are beautifully arranged so that
you will actually like listening to them as well!
There are four CDs in the series: Playful Baby, Cheerful
Baby, Sleepy Baby and Peaceful Baby.
The Playful Baby CD is quite unique because everyday
sounds are mixed with the music at carefully planned points
in the music. You'll hear everything from horses galloping,
lambs bleating, pigs snorting, to real cuckoo birds and even
children laughing! I can't say enough about this wonderful
CD Series!

Ah, to eliminate the "toxic
noise" of today's world and settle into some music that
child development researchers have found actually stimulates
baby's brain. On these albums - specifically designed for
daytime and night-time activities - is music that has proven
to help shape the young child's brain functions, such as emotion,
language, relationships, judgement and artistry.
An added appeal for older children
is that the gentle music in Cheerful Baby makes a

discs uses classical, folk, lullaby and nursery-rhyme music
to stimulate babies' brain development.
This series offers lovely arrangements of harp, celeste, violin,
viola, cello, clarinet and flute. Their sounds are a soothing
antidote for both parent and child to the noisy world around
them.
Among the Cheerful Baby selections are "London
Bridge Is Falling Down", "The Farmer in the Dell"
and works by Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven and Grieg.
Sleepy Baby goes for the opposite effect. As the
hour-long program progresses through the music of Brahms,
Saint-Saens and others, the tempo slows, tonal range narrows
and volume drops to soothe baby into a sound sleep. The lullabies
include "Rockabye, Baby", Saint-Saens' "The
Swan" and, surprisingly, a pretty combination of Bach's
and Gounod's versions of "Ave Maria". The two other
CDs in the Music for Babies series, which
has been endorsed by several parenting and professional groups,

delightful productions, Advanced Brain Technologies' Cheerful
Baby and Sleepy Baby, designed to calm, soothe
and develop young brains - and perhaps also an appropriate
soundtrack to those clients willing to visit their inner child.
Sleepy BabyTM features familiar lullabies, classical pieces
and traditional folk songs, from "Rockabye, Baby"
to Mozart's "Sleep, Little Child" to "All Thru
the Night" to Bach's "Ave Maria". Performed
by the Arcangelos Chamber Ensemble, the harp, violin, viola,
cello, clarinet and flute calm and soothe. Track by track,
the 13 songs gradually diminish in pace, tonal range and volume.
The livelier Cheerful Baby includes 28 tracks, including
gems by Mozart, Mendelssohn, Haydn and Beethoven, mixed with
traditional nursery rhymes and folk songs, such as "London
Bridge Is Falling Down" and "Mocking Bird".
Listening to either CD, you start to feel as though there's
not much wrong in this world that a good snack and a walk in
the park won't fix.

cognitive development, they are a welcome change from the
status quo. For variety, selections include classical and
folk music, lullabies and nursery rhymes. Selections feature
acoustic recordings of harp, celeste, violin, viola, cello,
clarinet and flute played by accomplished musicians.
Music arranger Richard Lawrence approached this project with
the intent of creating a series of music that would appeal
to both babies and the adults who take care of them, and it
seems that he has succeeded. We don't guarantee that these
CDs won't leave you with a certain melody playing incessantly
in your mind but we do think that you and the children in
your care will enjoy the classical presentation of this music
time and again without tiring of Music for Babies.
